I'm seated on the balcony of a cafe overlooking a rice field. It's a soft blue day in Canggu, Bali, an easy-going beach town filled with open-air bars and trendy hotels.

Since hitting the road six weeks ago, I've been on a journey that's taken me around the world.

My first stop was New York City, a place I called home for 13 years. Two weeks in the city left me feeling turned inside out in all the right ways. I saw old friends and made a few new ones. I bathed in nostalgia, caught up on art exhibitions, and wandered streets that feel at once achingly familiar and startlingly unrecognisable. I started dreaming again (literally — I hadn't remembered a dream in months until my head hit the pillow in Brooklyn).

The next stop was Bali, where I landed in the southern hemisphere for the first time in my life. It's been a month of exploration, creativity, and new connections.

A highlight of my month included a week spent painting in the art studio at Genesis Creative Centre in Berawa. I've been inspired by the colourful and lush landscape of the island and my palette proved it. You can check out updates to my artwork here.

Reflections on The Artist’s Way — Power and Possibility

Since the start of the year, I've been looking back on completing The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, a book and a self-study program developed by Julia Cameron in the 1990s.

Check out my thoughts on Recovering a Sense of Power and Recovering a Sense of Possibility.
