About Francesca Sciandra, your course tutor
I’m a UK-based visual artist specialising in painting and experiential art. My work delves into the depths of imagination, aiming to represent both the seen and the felt. I draw inspiration from nature, dreams, and emotions.
My artistic journey began in my teenage years with a foundational studio art class, which ignited a passion that has only intensified over time. I received a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union in New York City, where I studied drawing with Sue Ferguson Gussow and poetry with David Shapiro. I continued to pursue my artistic development, which led me to study post-graduate art history and glass sculpture in Barcelona. This experience began a transformative chapter, during which I connected deeply with my creative practice.
I have taught art and design courses to students of all ages—from children to high school students and adults. From 2019 to 2024, I facilitated creative circles for The Artist’s Way, supporting the creative recovery and growth of artists and creative spirits across continents.
Beyond my work as an artist and arts educator, I’m an integrative therapist and counsellor. My multifaceted background and commitment to artistic exploration make me a valuable mentor for those seeking to deepen their creative practice.
I’m so excited to have you on this journey with me. To stay in touch, connect with me on Instagram: @francescasciandra and sign-up to my newsletter to receive updates and course announcements.
